Scientist from the Medical University of Gdańsk becomes a member of Academia Europaea

Prof. Rafał Dziadziuszko from the Department and Clinic of Oncology and Radiotherapy of the Medical University of Gdańsk (MUG) has joined Academia Europaea. He is the sixth member of the Medical and Veterinary Sciences Section of this international scientific organization, whose aim is to improve standards in science, research and education, as well as to support and promote European scientific research of institutions, from Poland and the third member from MUG.

The main subject of research interests of Prof. Dziedziuszko is translational and clinical research of lung cancer. The scientist is currently working on identifying new molecular targets and developing new strategies for radiotherapy in chest cancer.

Academia Europaea was established in 1988. It gathers specialists in various sciences: medicine, chemistry, physics, mathematics, economics, humanities and social sciences. It has almost 5 thousand members, including several dozen Nobel Prize winners, and is the largest pan-European scientific society.
