Dr Karol Nartowski of the Department of Drug Form Technology of the Pharmaceutical Faculty of the Medical University of Wroclaw became the first winner of the international bilateral Mozart competition for Polish-Austrian research projects.
The scientist will receive over PLN 1 million for the implementation of the project “Polymorphism in co-crystals through experiment and theory”. The research will be conducted in cooperation with Priv.-Doz. Dr Doris E. Braun from the University of Innsbruck. The project will allow to comprehensively understand the processes of co-crystal formation. Based on the obtained results, the researchers will work out guidelines defining methods for the controlled search for co-crystals and their polymorphs.
In the Mozart competition scientists can finance remuneration for the research team, scholarships for students or doctoral students, purchase or production of research equipment and other necessary expenses related to the implementation of the project.
