Dr Jan Szczepanek from the Faculty of Physics at the University of Warsaw won first place in the category of Innovative Scientist in the competition “Innovator of Mazovia 2021”.
Dr Jan Szczepanek received an award for the work “Generation and dynamics of ultra-short pulses in fiber lasers with normal dispersion”. The first place in the Innovative Company category was won by the Warsaw-based Nanoxo company for the Zinc Oxide Quantum Dots product, the only nanomaterials in the world that are biocompatible and particle-stable. They can be used in many areas, such as medicine and photovoltaics.
The competition awards talented young scientists and companies from the micro, small and medium-sized enterprises sector that has developed and implemented innovative solutions in Mazovia region. The jury appreciates companies that are able to adapt to changes and needs of the environment as well as scientists whose work are important for the development of the economy.
The organizer is the Marshal’s Office of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship, and its partner is the capital city of Warsaw.
