The University of Gdańsk has signed a cooperation agreement with Baltic Trade & Invest Sp. z o. o., a subsidiary of RWE Renewables – the second-largest developer and operator of offshore wind farms in the world. It provides for research and development cooperation in the field of optimal use of marine areas, including aquaculture and the offshore wind energy sector. 

The contract includes research and development projects, cooperation in the organization of scientific conferences and symposia. It also concerns inspiring research essential for business development, including technology transfer and commercialization of results, preparation of analyzes and research and development cooperation in the field of optimal use of marine areas, including aquaculture and the offshore wind energy sector.

RWE intends to invest EUR 5 billion net in renewable energy in 2020-2022 and increase its global portfolio of renewable energy sources to over 13 gigawatts of net capacity.
