Prof. Eng. Michał Wasilczuk, the Gdańsk University of Technology won this year’s Smart Development Award in the “Scientist of the future” category. The award is a recognition of the authors of technological and social innovations, as well as investments that directly or indirectly raise the standard of living – informs the university.
Prof. Wasilczuk received an award for scientific activities related to bearing engineering and tribology, carried out by as part of the projects: “Studies on the use of acoustic levitation caused by the Poisson effect for contactless transport of light objects” and “Pro-ecological and low-energy construction and material solutions in water and wind energy”.
The award jury also noticed the laureate’s participation in the project concerning the development of modern diagnostic systems allowing to increase the reliability and durability of older types of trams.
