Scientist of the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań receives the University of Bayreuth Award

Prof. Krzysztof Kozłowski from the Institute of Film, Media and Audiovisual Arts at the Faculty of Polish and Classical Philology at the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań received the prestigious award of the German University of Bayreuth Center of International Excellence “Alexander von Humboldt”.

The scientist from Poznań will implement the project “Media Use and Propaganda: The Bayreuth Wagner Festival 1933-1944”. It assumes examining the hierarchy and role of the media involved in the Bayreuther Festspiele (a music festival in the Bavarian city of Bayreuth, devoted exclusively to the works of Richard Wagner), as well as their significance for National Socialist propaganda.

The research award was funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) and the Universität Bayreuth. It is intended to support the cooperation of the Bavarian universities with the best universities in the world, promoting outstanding scientific achievements and internationalization of research.
