Scientist of the University of Life Sciences in Poznań wins the Hans Fisher Scholarship

A scientist from the University of Life Sciences in Poznań has won the Hans Fisher Scholarship, funded by the Technical University of Munich, and will work on using massive data to demonstrate global changes in the distribution of plants and animals. 

Prof. Piotr Tryjanowski, head of the Department of Zoology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences, will be carrying out the Citizen Science Nature Watch project together with Prof. Annette Menzel from Technische Universität München. It involves using massive data collected by amateurs to demonstrate global changes in the distribution of plants and animals.

Prof Tryjanowski’s research interests focus on behavioural ecology, climate impacts, birds, agricultural landscapes and urban ecology. He is one of the most prominent researchers on birds and bird behaviour in the world. He has written more than 250 international publications and several books.
