Scientists of the University of Life Sciences in Lublin have developed “Fago-herb”, the first experimental phage-herbal preparation for the prevention of limb diseases in cattle, prepared on the basis of ingredients obtained from the natural environment.

The preparation has nourishing, antibacterial and drying properties, which not only protects against infection, but above all relieves pain symptoms occurring immediately after hoof correction, or resulting from damage to the skin and hoof horn. It is perfect for dairy cattle breeding.

“Fago-herb” was created thanks to the cooperation of employees of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine from the Department of Veterinary Prevention and Bird Diseases under the supervision of Prof. Renata Urban-Chmiel and the Faculty of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture of the Department of Vegetable and Herbal Medicine, with the participation of Dr Agnieszka Najda.
