Scientists from Belarus and Israel become laureates of the Polonicum 2019 Award

The scientist who received 2019 Polonicum Awards are professor Svetlana Musijenko from Belarus and professor Gabriel Moked from Israel.

The Center for Polish Language and Polish Culture for Foreigners “Polonicum”, which is part of the Faculty of Polish Studies at the University of Warsaw (UW), has been awarding distinctions since 2006 for outstanding services in promoting Polish culture and Polish language abroad. The awards can be received by people and institutions that popularize knowledge about Poland and the Polish language.

Winners receive a bronze statuette and a commemorative diploma.
Professor Musijenko is the creator of the first department of Polish philology in Belarus (Department of Polish Philology at the Janka Kupała State University in Grodno). Prof. Moked investigates the cultural, linguistic and literary relations of Poland and Israel and the impact of Polish literature on Israeli literature.
