Scientists from the Institute of Mechatronics and Information Systems of the Lodz University of Technology in cooperation with the Institute of Psychology of the University of Lodz, have developed an innovative tool to reduce stress. Thanks to the cooperation with the City Hall, it can help refugees from Ukraine in the fight against post-war trauma.

“We are inviting 40 people to participate in the program”, says Dr Eng. Dorota Kamińska, who implements the program on behalf of the Lodz University of Technology. Each session lasts about 20 minutes and combines several classical relaxation techniques, such as visualization and breathing techniques. It works a bit like the REM phase of sleep.

Virtual reality has been used for several years as a therapeutic method in reducing stress, treating depression, phobias and anxiety disorders. Its beneficial effects have been scientifically confirmed many times, also by scientists from the Institute of Mechatronics and Information Systems at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science and Automation of the Lodz University of Technology.
