The consortium of the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin, the University of Szczecin and Enea Operator is implementing a project that will create a hydrogen energy buffer that will store energy and stabilize the operation of the power grid. The system will use green hydrogen from renewable energy sources (RES) installations.
The aim of the first stage of the H2EBuffer project was to design a system architecture model that would stabilize the operation of power distribution networks. As a result of the work of scientists, a theoretical model was created that covers three phases of the supply chain, i.e. RES supply, energy production and storage, and its distribution.
Currently, the third stage of the project is underway as the work has begun on the construction of a prototype of the warehouse. The provided tests are currently underway will allow for final approval of the location for the installation of a hydrogen buffer. It will be located in the Main Supply Point in Łobez – informs the West Pomeranian University of Technology.
