Researchers at the Silesian Center for Heart Diseases in Zabrze, the Silesian Medical University and the Provincial Sanitary-Epidemiological Station in Katowice will carry out a study to determine the scale of the problem and the clinical significance of early complications in patients after COVID-19.
As part of the examination of people cured after COVID-19 infection, comprehensive cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological, hepatological and psychiatric diagnostics will be carried out – including laboratory, imaging and functional tests.
The results – in addition to determining the scale of the problem hitherto unknown – will allow the selection of studies that can be used as optimal tools to identify patients with early complications of SARSCov-2 infection. Early diagnosis may allow more effective treatment.
The project will be carried out as part of the fast support path of the Medical Research Agency, focused on the fight against COVID-19.
