03.09.2021

Scientists from the University of Economics in Wrocław: Dr Eng. Mirosława Teleszko (Department of Food Technology and Nutrition) and Dr Adam Zając (Department of Bioorganic Chemistry) together with Tomasz Rusak, the founder of the BIOTRECO start-up, are launching a pilot line of modern hemp products.

The processing potential of industrial hemp is enormous, but still not used in the food industry. Hemp seeds are rich in into high-quality protein, lipid acids, fiber, B vitamins and minerals. Unlike soy or nuts, they are safe for allergy sufferers and can become an excellent ingredient in alternative products to traditional dairy products.

Work on the technology of hemp food production took over a year. For the implementation of their project, the inhabitants of Wrocław received funding from the European Regional Development Fund under the Regional Operational Program of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
