Scientists from the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology (PW) developed an experimental motor glider PW-X10. The machine belongs to the PW “OBLOT” Aviation Research Center, which is located at the airport in Sieraków near Przasnysz.

The design of the new glider is developed by the team of Prof. Piotr Czarnocki. It is another effect of the works related to electromobility in aviation carried out at Warsaw University of Technology.

“We want to use the PW-X10 platform to test complete electric drive units and their components, such as engines, propellers, control systems, electricity supply systems obtained from electrochemical cells, fuel cells, photovoltaic cells and energy flow management systems”, said Wojciech Frączek from the Institute Aviation Technology and Applied Mechanics at the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering.
