The anti-icing coating developed by the Łukasiewicz Composite Materials and Coatings Team – Polish Center for Technology Development (PORT), was awarded in the Polish Product of the Future competition.

The composite coating is a long-awaited solution in the wind and aviation industry. It can be used to protect various types of surfaces against icing, incl. wind turbine blades.

Its most important advantages are easy application, low ice adhesion and long-term functionality, even after scratching, and the benefits of its application include lower maintenance costs of wind farms, reduction of electricity losses in winter by up to 80%. and reducing the emission of toxic substances to the environment.

The aim of the Polish Product of the Future competition is to award innovative products developed by Polish companies and scientists. Its organizers are the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development and the National Center for Research and Development.
