Scientists of the Medical University of Gdańsk receive Bekker scholarships

Three scientists of the Medical University of Gdańsk receive the Bekker scholarship holders, the National Agency for Academic Exchange. They received scholarships covering the costs of staying in renowned research centers abroad for 3 to 24 months.

Dr Eng. Milena Depęta from the Embryology Department was recognized for her work “Immunological monitoring of kidney transplant recipients receiving regulatory T-lymphocyte therapy”. She will continue her research at Oxford University.

Dr Eng. Joanna Fedorowicz from the Department of Chemical Technology of Medicines has received a scholarship for the work “Biological activity of new fluoroquinolone derivatives containing a quaternary nitrogen atom” and will work at the University of Helsinki.
Dr Maciej Grzybek from the Department of Tropical Parasitology, who was awarded for the work “The role of the red vole (Myodes glareolus) as a reservoir of zoonotic viruses – analysis of viremia and genetic diversity” will also travel to Finland.
