Prof. Wojciech Adamczyk from the Faculty of Environmental and Energy Engineering and Dr Katarzyna Turoń from the Faculty of Transport and Aeronautical Engineering at the Silesian University of Technology received awards from Division IV of Technical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
Prof. Wojciech Adamczyk received the award for his monograph on the modelling and validation of multiphase flow phenomena and a series of scientific publications on computer simulations of thermal-fluid processes and their experimental validation. Dr Katarzyna Turoń was distinguished for her doctoral thesis on selecting the right type of short-term car rental (car-sharing) service systems to meet the needs of urban areas.
The awards are given to scientists under the age of 40 for outstanding published creative scientific work in the technical sciences. In 2022, six scientists received them, including two from the Silesian University of Technology.
