Scientists of the University of Life Sciences in Wrocław to receive grants within Miniatura 2

Scientists of the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences have obtained grants from the Miniatura 2 program. They will receive a total of 150,000 PLN from the National Science Center.

The aim of the Dr Aleksandra Grudniewska’s project is the use of natural deep eutectic solvents (NADES – natural deep eutectic solvents) to isolate bioactive compounds, mainly flavonoids from by-products of the brewing industry.

Dr Tomasz Janek will try to explain the mechanisms of action of metal complexes with lipopetide biosurfactants produced by bacteria of the genus Pseudomonas and Bacillus on the main virulence factors of Candida.

Dr Kamil Sierżant will check if it is possible to improve the fatty acid profile in the meat of broiler chickens (including increasing the omega-3 fatty acid content with omega-6 reduction) with simultaneous improvement of the oxidative stability of this meat.
