Scientists of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology working on a solution to modernize the processing of raw materials

22.03.2021

Scientists of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, together with partners from Poland and Finland, are creating a system to improve the efficiency of processing mining machines. Works on a solution improving the monitoring and diagnostics of these devices are nearing the finish line.

Extracting copper and silver is a multi-stage and complicated process involving not only the extraction of the ore in the mine, but also its appropriate processing. Classic diagnostic procedures for machines from ore enrichment plants have proved to be unreliable, therefore it is necessary to create a system especially for them.

The project is called OPMO – Operational Monitoring of Mineral Crushing Machinery and is financed by the Horizon 2020 program. The result of the work of consortium members from Poland and Finland will be a combined modern monitoring and diagnostic system for raw material processing machines: crushing machines (cone and jaw crushers) and screens.
