Scientists of University of Silesia develop new patented method of obtaining compounds from the triazole group

09.09.2020

Scientists of the University of Silesia have developed a method of obtaining compounds from the group of triazoles that exhibit a wide spectrum of biological activity, thanks to which they may be of particular importance in the design of new drugs. The solution has been patented.

The triazole systems can be used in the development of drugs with antifungal activity. Chemists have modified the method of carrying out the 1,2,3-Triazole synthesis reaction, making it even more efficient and selective, as well as reducing the costs of product purification, which is especially important for compounds used in the pharmaceutical industry.

The authors of the invention are scientists of the Faculty of Exact and Technical Sciences: Dr Eng. Jacek Mularski, Dr Eng. Mateusz Korzec, Prof. Robert Musioł, Prof. Eng. Jarosław Polański, Dr Wioleta Cieślik and Dr Roksana Rzycka-Korzec, Dr Barbara Czaplińska and Dr Jacek Bogocz.
