Scientists receive PLN 430 million under the OPUS and PRELUDIUM competitions

The National Science Center (NCN) has announced the 20th PRELUDIUM competition for research projects for people without a doctoral title and the 21st OPUS competition for research projects for scientists at all stages of their scientific careers. The total budget of both NCN competitions is PLN 430 million.

The OPUS competition is addressed to scientists at all stages of their scientific careers who conduct basic research. People without a PhD title and experienced researchers can take part in it. However, it is required that the project manager has at least one scientific work published or accepted for publication, or one artistic or artistic-scientific achievement. There is no specific upper limit for project costs under OPUS. The budget of the 21st competition is as much as PLN 400 million.

The PRELUDIUM competition is aimed at people starting their scientific careers who have not yet obtained a doctoral title. Projects submitted for funding must be devoted to basic research, and the research team may consist of no more than three people together with the project manager and research supervisor. The budget of this PRELUDIUM is PLN 30 million.

The deadline for submitting applications in the competitions is June 15, 2021.
