Seminar on Crisis, Migration and Affective Tuning in Iceland to be held at the University of Lodz

On Thursday, 17 January 2019, the Institute of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology of the University of Lodz invites participants to the seminar “Crisis, migration and affective tuning in Iceland”.

The seminar will be led by Dr Marek Pawlak, anthropologist at the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. He will present changes in the Icelandic political economy and the socio-cultural transformations of the country, triggered by neoliberalism.

The participants of the meeting will also learn how the newly created subjectivity of the 90s prepared a fertile ground for the crisis in 2008 and its consequences.
