Students from the Silesian Greenpower scientific association at the Silesian University of Technology took third place in the Formula F24+ competition at the Croft circuit in England. They also won a special Siemens prize for their research using the company’s software.
Formula 24+ is a category in which the driver can be up to 26 years old. The cars all have the same motors, powered by 240W DC. They also have the same 36 Ah batteries. The race lasts 60 minutes. The team that completes the most laps in this time wins.
The Silesian Greenpower are doing extremely well this season – in previous races their cars have twice taken first and second places. Students from the Silesian university also competed on the track of the famous Lotus company, which has a history of competing in Formula 1. The Bullet III car took a high, fourth place.
