International group of scientists and clinicians, led by Professor Tomasz Darocha, Head of the Department of Cardiac Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care, Faculty of Medical Sciences, Silesian Medical University (SUM), published an article and instructional video in The New England Journal of Medicine.  

The material, ‘Basics of Point-of-Care Lung Ultrasonography’, published in the world’s most renowned medical journal, describes the basics of bedside lung ultrasonography. 

The idea for the film originated during the joint work of SUM representatives at the Temporary Hospital in Pyrzowice during the covid-19 pandemic. At the production stage, in view of the changing epidemic situation, the film was modified and prepared in such a way that, irrespective of the epidemic situation, it will help and educate healthcare professionals and effectively use transthoracic ultrasonography in the diagnosis of the underlying causes of dyspnoea.
