The team with the participation of scientists from the Silesian University of Technology has created a mobile application called “Silesian Expedition” with a map of 30 geological and post-mining objects located on the border of Poland and the Czech Republic. Researchers have also prepared a publication with descriptions of objects on both sides of the border.

Objects located up to 40 km on both sides of the border are included in the extensive trilingual (CZE / PL / ENG) publication. The list includes such objects as: the Queen Louise adit in Zabrze, the Silesian Geophysical Observatory in Racibórz, the Dolne Vitkovice complex in Ostrava or the meanders of the Odra River on the Chałupki-Zabełków area.

The project called “Geological and mining heritage in the border part of the Upper Silesian Coal Basin” was financed by the International Visegrad Fund. Two entities participated in the work: Vysoka Škola Banska in Ostrava and the Silesian University of Technology.
