Silesian University of Technology researcher becomes a finalist in the ‘Polityka’ Science Awards

Dr Małgorzata Włodarczyk-Biegun from the Centre for Biotechnology at the Silesian University of Technology is in the final of the 22nd Scientific Awards of “Polityka”. The researcher is involved in 3D bioprinting in applications for tissue regeneration, mainly the connections between hard and soft tissue, i.e. muscles and bones and bones and ligaments. 

“I am glad that my field of biomedical engineering and 3D bioprinting has been recognised and will be further disseminated. Secondly, it is a great honour that my work and that of my colleagues has been recognised. It is also a great obligation to continue to develop scientifically and to develop new solutions that will be useful to other people and will find real clinical applications”, says Dr Włodarczyk-Biegun.

The Polityka Weekly Foundation has been running a scholarship programme aimed at young scientists since 2001. Awards are given in five categories: humanities, social sciences, life sciences, sciences, technical sciences.
