Silesian University of Technology to launch a research center for a green future

The Silesian University of Technology will launch the Fraunhofer Design Center. The Center will be created in cooperation with German organizations supporting industry in Europe. It will deal with activities in the energy transformation and the concept of a smart region.

The center will operate under the name Advanced Intelligent Technologies for a Green Future. It will support the development of interregional cooperation in the voivodeship Silesian with German Saxony. The Fraunhofer Society for the Promotion of Applied Research in Munich and the Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and Forming Technology in Chemnitz will be involved in the center.

The aim of the inaugurated cooperation is to strengthen the scientific potential of the Western Subregion of the Silesian Voivodeship and to act for the industrial transformation of the region towards a green economy. The scope of the Center’s activities corresponds to the Priority Research Areas implemented by the Silesian University of Technology.
