The competition “Modernisation of the Year & Construction of the 21st century” has been decided. The Silesian University of Technology was one of the winners. The competition jury awarded the university a statuette for the reconstruction of the courtyard and renovation of the lobby of the Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering and Industrial Automation.
The ‘Modernisation of the Year & Construction of the 21st Century’ competition was held for the 27th time, with the aim of selecting construction projects: modernisations and new buildings completed by the first quarter of 2023, which stand out for their special qualitative, functional, urban and aesthetic values.
The competition promotes the functionality of modernised and rebuilt buildings and structures, the modernity of technologies and design solutions, the use of new techniques, modern efficient and safe equipment, the high quality of construction and conservation workmanship, ecological effects and, in the case of historic buildings, care for architecture and the protection of cultural heritage.
