The Minister of Education and Science has authorised the establishment of a medical faculty at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology. From October, 60 students will start studying at the new Faculty of Medicine. The Faculty will have its seat in part of the historic complex of the former hospital on Hoene-Wroński Street. 

The decision to establish a Faculty of Medicine at the Wrocław Technical College was made in September 2022. This is not only a response to the shortage of medical staff faced by almost all hospitals in Poland, but also an opportunity to develop scientific research in the field of health and life sciences, which is new to the University of Technology.

Last December, the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, the Marshal’s Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodship and eight hospitals signed cooperation agreements to set up and run the faculty. It is doctors with degrees and academic titles employed at Wrocław hospitals who will largely constitute the scientific staff of the new faculty.
