The Faculty of Environmental Engineering at Wrocław University of Science and Technology will collaborate with Extremo Technologies. The main objective of the agreement is to conduct joint research work on the use of extremophilic microorganisms from volcanic sites.
The agreement has been signed for an indefinite period and the company hopes to support the faculty in further efforts towards research on esctremophiles in the space and environmental sectors. In addition, further projects are planned, including the exploration of extreme areas in Poland (including Lower Silesia) and abroad, towards the search for unique microorganisms.
Extremo Technologies is a company that researches extremophilic microorganisms, such as volcanic microalgae, bacteria or fungi, which can be used, among other things, to extract minerals from lunar and Martian regolith, as well as to produce oxygen, or in medicine.
