Świętokrzyski University of Technology, Łukasiewicz Research Network – Automotive Industry Institute and Globtrak will join forces for the providing safety of drivers on the road. The consortium will develop an innovative motor insurance risk assessment system.
The Kielce University of Technology will study drivers’ habits and driving techniques. For different categories and in different weather conditions.
Special devices will be installed in the cars that will send data to the central computer. On their basis, university employees will develop an assessment for a driver. Research is interesting for transport and insurance companies – says Prof. Tomasz Lech Stańczyk, dean of the Faculty of Mechatronics and Machine Building and project manager.
The work on creating the system has already begun. The value of the entire project is over 4.3 million PLN. Co-financing in the amount of PLN 3.8 million is granted by the National Center for Research and Development.
