State Higher School of Applied Sciences in Leszno to cooperate with the Georgian Sokhumi State University

17.11.2020

State Higher Vocational School Jan Amos Comenius in Leszno signed an agreement with the first partner university in Georgia. Cooperation with Sokhumi State University in Tbilisi will be implemented for the pedagogy and philology and will enable the active exchange of students and lecturers.

The agreement was signed for a period of two years (until the end of the Erasmus + projects for the current perspective) and will be implemented under the Erasmus + KA107 Program.

Sokhumi State University was founded in 1932, when the Georgian government decided to establish the Pedagogical Institute in Sokhumi – a town on the shores of the Black Sea. The fights carried out at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s in the Abkhazia region caused the university to be moved to Tbilisi, where it functions to this day.
