Libraries belonging to the Fahrenheit Universities (Gdańsk Medical University, Gdańsk University of Technology, University of Gdańsk, together with all faculty libraries) and the European Solidarity Centre have completed implementation of the state-of-the-art Alma library system and Primo search engine.
These units joined the ranks of libraries co-cataloguing with the National Library (BN). BN participated in the implementation process of the system, provided training and deduplication of records, and provided assistance in the implementation and configuration of the system.
The biggest advantage of the integrated resource management system is the possibility of real-time co-cataloguing in a single IT system – this has a direct impact on cost reduction. The integrated institutions, through their own online catalogues, have joined the merged catalogues, now covering almost 46 million collection units (this number is increased daily by new publications).
