07.12.2021

Artur Salamon, a safety engineering student of the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences (UPWr) has developed an interactive cane for the blind. It will be equipped with distance sensors, and will signal any obstacles on the road by vibrations.

The cane will also automatically turn on the red signaling diodes after dark and will be equipped with the “blue light” system, which emits a clear blue light on the track, which will draw attention to the blind person.

The project of an interactive cane for the blind and visually impaired people is the subject of Artur Salamon’s engineering work.

-I am sure that it will be useful in the everyday life of people who have eyesight problems – emphasizes Artur Salamon and says that the idea to create an interactive cane appeared two years ago, when he was helping a blind person to reach a tram stop.
