The Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) in Olsztyn, together with the Israeli Technical Institute Technion in Haifa and the European Food Information Council, started the implementation of the project “Classroom as a platform for community engagement with food production and science”.
The aim of the project is to shape responsible consumer attitudes among young people, as well as to raise awareness about healthy eating, food safety, innovation in the agri-food industry and not wasting food.
The project started on February 25 and will last until the end of 2020. 100 students from Polish and Israeli secondary schools will participate in the school classes, held with the participation of scientists, experts, innovators and representatives of the food industry. Students will be able to listen to their lectures. They will carry out experiments in laboratories and will visit food production and processing plants.
