Students from the Footprint Building Materials Science Club of the Krakow University of Technology (PK) developed a concrete canoe weighing about 100 kg. PKanoe can be used by two people.

The project “PKanoe – construction of a textile concrete boat with a binder of a reduced carbon footprint” is being carried out by the Footprint Scientific Society for Building Materials Engineering, which includes students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and the Faculty of Architecture.

The implementation of the project is possible thanks to FutureLab of the Krakow University of Technology. The unit supports financially and organizationally the implementation of plans and scientific projects of Krakow students.

Young scientists set themselves the task of developing a composite material – textile concrete, which was used to make the hull of the boat. The first launch of PKanoe took place in the Bagry Lagoon in Kraków. In June in Germany PKanoe will take part in a competition of kayaks that are entirely made of concrete.
