Students from the Institute of German Studies at the Faculty of Modern Languages of the University of Warsaw (UW) have prepared a tourist brochure in German, which has been recommended by the Polish Tourist Organization (POT) in Berlin and will be handed to German tourists in August.
The Tarnow Hills Guide folder was created as part of the “Poland and Germany project” for young people. The brochure was prepared by students under the supervision of Dr Grażyna Strzelecka from the Faculty of Modern Languages at the University of Warsaw, who conducts classes in the specialist language of tourism.
Preparing the publication, students practiced their language skills in practice. They did not translate the texts but wrote them immediately in German. In this way, they learned to use a culturally adequate language.
In addition to publishing the brochure, students also worked on a guide to selected regions, which will include alternative tours around Poland.
