A team from the Student Astronautical Club of the Warsaw University of Technology (PW) has qualified for the final of the international University Rover Challenge (URC) competition. In the desert of Utah in the United States, 37 teams from 10 countries will compete for the win.

The URC is the most prestigious and largest competition for student rover development teams.

This year, the rovers will perform four missions: scientific (to see if life was, is or will be possible in the earth samples taken), delivery (to overcome rough terrain and carry designated items to the astronaut), hardware (to perform precision operations on a mock-up machine), and navigation (to drive autonomously according to guidelines).

The team from the Student Astronautical Club, which operates at the Faculty of Power and Aeronautics of the Warsaw University of Technology, is going to the competition with Sirius II. This is a rover that has been under development for three years.

The University Rover Challenge 2023 competition will take place from 31 May to 3 June 2023.
