Students of the Gliwice High School of General Education became the winners of the final of the Polish qualifications of the European Space Agency CanSat 2020. Members of the Electronics and Information Technology Science Club built the CanSat mini-satellite “AGO Knurów-1” and took first place – ex aequo with the team from Krakow.
The project included developing physical and mathematical assumptions, writing software as well as constructing a satellite that had to maintain constant two-way radio communication with the ground control station. For this purpose, the team prepared a stand, consisting of a computer, communication module, directional antenna, and wrote control and management software.
The team has repeatedly tested the satellite using a flight simulator that was created that reflected real conditions. Young constructors announce their participation in next year’s competition.
