The hydrogen-powered car constructed by students of the AGH University of Science and Technology (AGH) in Krakow is lightweight, durable and energy saving.
The car was constructed by members of the Students’ Scientific Circle of MechaniCAD Constructors operating at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics. The goal of the AGH team is not only to improve their skills, but also to disseminate knowledge about ecological solutions in transport and to indicate a viable alternative to currently widely used combustion drives.
The Hydrive 1 car was developed from last year version for starting in the international Shell Eco-marathon competition, one of the most innovative competitions for young designers.
Every year, over 200 student teams from around the world take part in the competition. The AGH team will start in the Prototype category, in which the most important thing is to achieve maximum vehicle performance. This year’s competition due to a pandemic was postponed to 2021.
