Students and graduates of Construction major from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Resource Management at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow have won all the main prizes in the 4th Competition for Young Engineers in the “Challenge of a Young Engineer” category.
Bartosz Stopka, a graduate of Construction major, won the first prize for the competition project “Building as a sundial”. The task was to develop a concept of a high building with an additional function of a sundial. The designed height of the building is 200 m above sea level, the slope of one of the walls of the building is -50 °, the location is Błonia in Krakow.
The second prize was received by Wioletta Wanat and Anna Zygmunt, MA students of the 1st year of Construction. They were awarded for their research project and the analysis of a footbridge, suspended by cables to a steel pylon.
The third prize was awarded to Dominika Oświęcimska and Zuzanna Padula – a graduate and MA student of Construction Engineering, respectively, also for a research project aimed at developing construction of a two-module rotary stage with concurrent and counter-rotating motion, with the possibility of vertical motion at the same time.
