The SumoMasters team from the Mechanical Department of the Białystok University of Technology (PB) is going to participate in the RobotChallenge robotics competition in Beijing, which will take place on August 9 – 11, 2019.

The team from the Robotic Science Club is composed of Piotr Wasilewski, Marcin Dziubek, Łukasz Kotarski, Michał Falkowski, and Jerzy Matusiewicz and works under the supervision of Dr Eng. Rafał Grądzki. The team is preparing up to 11 robots to China.

Every year, the competition in Beijing gathers an increasing number of participants from different countries of the world. Almost 2,300 participants with 1,478 robots from 30 countries took part in the competition last year. Thanks to such attendance and participation of so many countries, competitions in China are the largest sumo robots competition in the world. Last year, the SumoMasters team returned from China with three silver medals – in the categories Megasumo, Minisumo, Nanosumo – reminds Dr Grądzki.
