The Architecture Department of the Gdańsk University of Technology began cooperation with the city of Sopot on the planned reconstruction of the Forest Opera. Students will carry out design work on infrastructure and land development, so that the facility will gain new functionality while maintaining the most important – hosting concerts.

Young designers have prepared analyzes regarding the existing architecture and urban planning of the amphitheater, its history and the history of related artistic events, the natural context, as well as the characteristics of using it seasonally and on a daily basis.

The new concept of the object will include sales functions (ticket offices, souvenir shop, utility rooms), catering (kitchens, facilities, guest toilets), events (foyer, cloakroom, concert hall, rehearsal rooms, wardrobes for artists), exhibition, hotel (places for artists and musicians) as well as administrative, office and economic ones.
