The wind turbine project implemented in the Student Scientific Clube of Power Engineers, of the Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery of the Lodz University of Technology (TUL), won the first place in the ECO-Innovative Student Project category in the national competition Eco-innovators 2020.
The aim of the competition was to choose pro-ecological solutions, the authors of which are students of Polish universities. This year, there were three categories: ECOinnovative Student Project, ECOinnovative Scientific Circle, Student – ECOinnowator. The competition was organized by the Institute of Sustainable Energy.
The main goal of the project carried out by students of the Lodz University of Technology is the construction and improvement of a prototype of a home wind turbine. Its purpose is to cover at least some of the household’s daily electricity requirements, as well as contribute to reducing costs and increasing savings. The innovation of this design lies in the very idea of reducing the wind turbine for use in the home area. What’s more, an innovative solution is also its modularity, the use of 3D printing and ecological materials.
