The students of the Faculty of Architecture of the Poznań University of Technology – Zuzanna Sazonow and Aleksandra Pytka, won the International VELUX Award in the “Natural light in buildings” category. The competition is organized in close cooperation with the International Union of Architects (UIA).

The jury appreciated their design of a modular shading system as a response to the constantly changing climatic conditions and the new post-pandemic lifestyle. The structure has been designed in such a way as to protect the interior from overheating, but at the same time allow the inflow of natural daylight.

“It is necessary to help in adapting houses that were once only “bedrooms” to spend more time in them because of, for example, a home office. Our project aims to prevent houses from overheating during the day, while not completely obstructing the view from the window”, inform the authors in the description of the project “TIP – Time Indicate Protection”.
