Students of the faculty of automation, electronics and computer science at the Silesian University of Technology took the third place in the 14th international Digilent Design Contest competition in Cluj-Napoca in Romania.
Young engineers – Przemysław Mazur, Robert Nawrath and Marcin Beberok – have developed an industrial controller PLC compatible with the international standard including a central unit, APB bus, function block modules, I / O modules and a serial bus interface. An integral part of the designed system is a programmer with an operator panel.
As part of the presentation, students wrote a demonstration program, thus proving the high performance of their controller. The jury of this competition appreciated their unique and innovative solutions.
