17.12.2018

Students of the Silesian University of Technology presented their latest vehicle – the Quarado car, which will take part in the Formula Student competition in the summer. The vehicle has a capacity of 95 hp, weighs only 220 kg and accelerates to a hundred km per hour in 3.5 seconds.

The work of young engineers from the Student Scientific Club PolSl Racing is an improved and lighter version of the SW-01 car. The goal of the modification was to improve the performance results of the car. This was achieved by reducing the weight of the vehicle, modifying the drive and the chassis.

The “revised” car weighs 220 kg, its engine power was increased from 75 to 95 hp. It is lighter than the original by 60 kg, which also translated into better acceleration. SW-02, the Quarado car, reaches a speed of 100 km / h in 3.5 seconds with one second less than SW-01.
Currently, the car will pass necessary tests, then the drivers will have training to improve their skills for the competition. The next stage will be implementing the modifications.
