Students of the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań have developed a smartphone- website “Korona Gór Polski 3D”. It is a useful tool for everyone planning summer trips to the Polish mountains.
By entering the kgp3d.amu.edu.pl address, each user will be able to see all 28 peaks of the ” Korona Gór Polski 3D” in 3D. Besides the 3D view, users can also see what is visible while standing on top of the mountain. The website was developed by students of “Cartography and Geomatics” as an assessment work for the “Virtual and Augmented Reality” course.
People with newer smartphones (supporting ARCore) can also display a 3D model “at home”, ie on their own desk or floor (augmented reality). After the virtual travels, anyone will also be able to place the summit as a 3D model for free on their own website/blog, using the code that allows the model to be embedded on external websites.
