Students of the Faculty of Oceanography and Geography at the University of Gdańsk will go on internships at the University of Iceland at the Húsavík Research Center under the project “Mobility in higher education”.
During the internship, Kaja Czajkowska, Małgorzata Jarzynowska, Małgorzata Szałęga and Emilia Zygrzałowska will conduct field research on floating research units. They will conduct observations and record the behavior of cetaceans, as well as create photographic documentation to identify individuals of the observed species. They will also conduct field studies on land recording the respiratory rate of cetaceans.
The project ‘Mobility in Higher Education’ benefits from funding from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway under the European Economic Area funds. The aim of the project is to increase the mobility of university students and staff between Poland and the donor states.
