Students from the Flogiston chemical research club at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Warsaw University of Technology (PW) took first place in the 5th National Festival of Chemical Demonstrations. Recognition from the audience and jury was won by the presentation entitled. “A day in the life of a student”.

The PW students demonstrated a number of phenomenal chemical reactions using pyrotechnic masses, dry ice and liquid nitrogen. They encapsulated everything within a humorous story of their own about the everyday life of a student at the Faculty of Chemistry.

Bartosz Kościk, Kinga Krajewska, Agnieszka Łukasiak and Mateusz Okrasa represented Flogiston at the festival.

PW emphasises that the Flogiston Chemical Scientific Club has been showing for years how fascinating chemistry can be. The students share their passion by conducting numerous workshops and thematic chemical demonstrations for children and high school students. They organise their own seminars, ‘Flominaria’, and a science festival, ‘Confused Weekend’.
